setting up diseqc+motor

first time setup getting different answers as to working or not, vu solo2 with fixed feed on 28.2 on tuner1., diseqc on tuner 2
A=28.2
B=13.0
C= motorized feed only from 19.0 at the moment
.
dish is controlled by protek box in other room and depends where its pointed at last sat

question is will the motorized give me a feed and if dish is moved to another sat will it give problems as i think you have to setup diseqc to a named sat??

need more info as to what you are trying to do as I for one dont really understand.
if your setting up diseqc 1.2 you need to point the dish due south after sending it to "0" then finding the nearest sat relative to your longitude position and manualy searching for the other sats.It will be much easier to use "usals"

you could try this cheats way of setting up diseqc 1.2 I"m sending you dont need to find true south with this

I know what your trying to do cacti and you are correct in thinking having motor set on diseqc port c will cause a problem when it moves due to it being set as diseqc 1.0 on 4 port switch each port needs to be set to a specific sat. Best way is put the motor on 1 tuner and diseqc on the other. So you would have 13, & fixed 28 on diseqc switch on tuner A with motor on tuner B. I know your trying to get two fixed inputs for 28 on different tuners but I don't think you'll do it that way

all dishes are aligned and working as i only used 28.2 and 19.0,many years ago i got a motorized setup and not really used it,but want to dabble wi th the motor side but it will only be feed only to that room,pity i thought if i moved dish to thor from downstairs control and changed the setting on box upstairs to thor i could view it?? i assumed cable from motorised would be the same as from fixed dish.
handy to have a second box as backup if i need to record.

It would work if you want to change the tuner configuration on the box the diseqc is connected to every time you move the dish as long as you have a twin lnb on the motorised dish with one feed to the diseqc switch and the second feed from the lnb going to the box you want to use to control the motor.

bugger a twin lnb ,i went and got a quad as i thought ahead,motorized setup control is from other room and box and 3 feeds to other rooms waiting for hookup. maybe i should think ahead and have multisat bouquet and guess what sat i am on

if you use one main box as a positioner and use the loop out to the slave box, the slave box will have access to the motor when the master control box is placed on standby, so that is one option but the slave box has limited access to channels unless the main box is placed into standby, plus it must have a loop out in order to work too (like a spider or a tm does)


the other option that keeps both boxes up and running is to have the master box to the motor and a twin or quad lnb, with the slave box connected to the second output of a twin or quad lnb, this config means you have no control of the motor from the slave box, so you have to know what the master box has told the motor to actually sit on , meaning its either left on say 28.2e when not in use (or whichever default sat you want on both boxes) and only moved when you want the master or slave boxes on a different sat

the point with option 2 is you send the motor to the correct sat using the master box, then use the slave box if you need it, but they are both on the same single sat, with no motor control from the slave box

yes m8 well aware i have only 1 master i use is the protek and then the three feeds would be slaves as it can only give 1 extra feed when i remember where i moved the sat too ,previously only had 2 feeds now 3now to see what freesat works ,cheers folks.
