What vix image you using is it over 25 if it is I would save your settings to hdd if you can or usb delete the image you have on your pc re-download and flash then restore your settings.

I have read of similar scenario's with vu+ mainly.

I've got a Gigablue Quad Plus for a couple of weeks now.
I have it connected as a slave to my TM7102HD which I use to drive my Channel Master 1.2mt motorised dish fitted with a twin output lnb.
It came with Vix Apollo 32 so I stayed with that until one morning it refused to load up.
I think its called a boot crash loop ?

I flashed Vix Apollo 41 to the box & its doing ok.
I don't find it particularly great for scanning a satellite as I think its maybe not always that reliable.
The TM7102 I have is much better.

I thinks this is down to the software as the tuners & hardware in the Gigablue seem to be very good so far.
I found the tuners very sensitive as it locked on a channel that the TM wouldn't touch & the TM is supposed to have sensitive tuners.
I got it really just to try out a Linux box & have a bit of fun with.

                Vu+ Uno
                Vu+ Ultimo
                Vu+ Duo
                Vu+ Duo LE
                Vu+ Solo 2

No issues with recordings or playback on any of these, all running various ViX images from 3.0.808 to Apollo 046.

                TM Twin OE
                TM 2T
                TM Nano 2 Super
                TM Nano OE

running all running Apollo series images, I do get the odd glitch but thats down to the drivers as TM are just as useless at producing working drivers and take just as long to fix issues as GB.

                Xtrend ET 9200

running Apollo 046, no issues with recordings or playback

GB-Quad HD running, not really sure as I have not powered this one on is a few weeks due to the monumental cock up with the drivers by gigablue.

If we stuck to that we would never have moved on from ViX 1.0 and there would be no ViX images for any thing but the Vu+ Duo, nor any OE-Alliance etc etc etc.

My take on this is that the OP is looking for fictional issues in order to blame ViX for the recent issues with the Gigablue receivers. but thats just my opinion.

I agree progress is required as nothing stands still but if your box does what you need it to leave the thing alone. I'm not so sure on your take that the op is blaming the vix team exclusively as he has had problems with almost all images on his quad after the bootloader issue. I for one find vix very stable and reliable but one issue where a particular softcam doesn't restart automatically after gui restart stops me using it exclusively (maybe it is me that hasn't found the correct configurations) this is where openatv suits me better, as that option is available amongst a few other bits. But as has been said a million times is each to their own where images are concerned

The only problem I have with vix is I believe that they new about the problems with the boot loader for some time yet still promoted the download of the bootloader and it is still on their downloads why not remove it and tell people there is an issue and not to install until gigablue resolve the problem would have saved a lot of hassle for a lot of people.
Vix are excellent at what they do and I have happily used many of their images Gigablue have given Vix the bootloader and drivers which Vix have built their images around at no fault of their own as they can only work with what they are given, however it would of been nice to know a lot earlier same with Gigablue I had to really push to get a brief reply from them they stated they were aware of the problem and were working on it.
thought it would be nice to compile a data base of common problems with different boxes' and particular images VIX is only one of these images.

Like with all other manufacturers we assumed GB had actually tested their work prior to release, so they were added to the OE-A GIT. And lets not pick on GB exclusively here, all manufacturers screw up from time to time, even Vu+ have multiple times, but it was not until they were added to the GIT and made public that user reports started to come in with the issues users were suffering. Once we suspected that the bootloader / drivers were at fault we sent our bug reports to GB in the same way that our users do with us.

As for promoting the use of this bootloader and driver set, I certainly did no such thing, in fact if you look on the forum I said multiple times that if a user had not updated their bootloader already then they should stay put until GB fixed things, I said the same thing via the OpenViX Facebook pages.

Totally agree with what you say maybe the word promoting was the wrong word to use and I am sorry for that but personally I would not have removed the boot loader from the site so no one else could fall foul and left it to GB.
I do not read every single post as don't have the time, But it was stupid of me to update without doing a bit more research. Lesson certainly learned.

As you say I assumed everything was ok and it had actually been tested.
I must be honest I was very annoyed and frustrated at first in the end mainly at myself as I could not resolve the issues with my main box.
eventually resolved after a couple of very long nights.
This post was only originally made to possibly collect enough information, to use as a type of data base if possible but my idea has gone tits up as its all gone off task.

That often happens as threads get off course but credit to you for trying.
Sometimes despite doing a lot of research people can still get it wrong because there are so many different opinions.
What works for one person may not work at all for others.

What I would like to see is a database of the best images for the various boxes.
I only have my Gigablue Quad Plus for a couple of weeks now.
It came with Vix 032 installed & I only changed to Vix041 when the box refused for some reason unknown to me to load up one morning.
I would love to try other images but don't know enough or have the confidence at present to try.
I'm only learning so a comparison between the various images would be very useful to someone like me.

What I also find strange is the rush to put out images when it should be obvious to the experts that they don't work as intended.
I would much prefer if the release was delayed until it was sure that they worked properly.
What I & I'm sure a lot of others want are images that work as intended & are a step up from previous images.
I’m not having a go at anyone here so please don’t anyone feel offended.
