    Issue with spiderbox

I've used many boxes in my time, but never a spiderbox, so forgive me if I'm asking stupid questions but I've googled and still can't get it working.

this is a mates box and he asked me to update it.

when i go to the Ethernet settings and try to register the Ethernet it just shows as 'connecting'.

    ive tried:
    -manual IP settings
    -auto IP settings
-turning the Ethernet option on and off again (on both the above settings)

even stranger thing is, when I log onto my router and look at connections it shows as connected?

any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated then I can give him his box back and never have to see it again.

well its older than the firmware date so maybe 4 or 5 years old I would think

that firmware was the last official firmware for it which is why I asked for the date

as for that "connecting" problem, that aspect has not worked for maybe 2 or 3 years so you are wasting your time trying that part so set it to OFF

its the client setup you would use now (third from top) , not the "ethernet" that is second from the bottom

Done that - but still no joy?

              sorry, any more ideas?
              Thanks.

as I said, that aspect of the spiderbox has not worked for 2 or 3 years so no need to mess with it

YOU CANNOT REGISTER THE ETHERNET !! its dead , defunct , extinct !

not allowed to help you with the CLIENT setup which is the part you should be checking as cs cannot be discussed on here

I also said you cannot "update it" as no new official firmware has come out for it since that date , although a third party has released one you pay for, but again cannot name the details on here
