    Cable splitter lose quality ?

Hi guys i currently have a skybox f5s in my living room and i want to also have one in my bedroom but i want to run both boxes at the same time so that rules out the LOOP function to work.

so i was thinking if i was to use a splitter and run a cable to my living room and the other to my bedroom would this result in a loss of signal ?
Or is this my only option.

Any advice would be great thanx

not possible with satellite, its one or the other , or run separate feeds from a multiple lnb like a quad or octo

you can use the loopout of BOX A to feed BOX B, placing BOX A on standby whilst using BOX B

a simple A-B switch could be used to switch the lnb feed from one box to the other box instead

    but NOT a cable splitter

my advice ? change the single lnb for a quad and run separate coaxial feeds to any additional locations

Ok, well as i want both boxes to work at the same time the LOOP is definitely out,
i will look at my LNB and see if i have space from another coax,
and if i do i can just run a 2nd coax straight to the bedroom and thats should work fine ?

Good idea i asked first before rushing in .

      thank you

yes, that is exactly how it is done , so ideally you may have a quad lnb already, if not , change it and run the coax in

if its a quad already and all 4 outputs were in use, you would change it to an octo lnb (8 outputs)

think of it as one output exclusively feeds one tuner , which is why sly fit quad lnb,s on their dishes, for sly plus in the living room and say 2 bedrooms with single feeds, or a twin feed for the living room sly plus, and another twin feed for the master bedrrom secondary sly plus (so two sly plus boxes, each having a twin feed as they are dual tuner boxes)

Yes, like Ram says. Not possible.

However it is kind of possible.

But, and there's a big but. For instance, box 1 is watching BBC1 on 10773 H, box 2 wont be able to tune into that frequency as the LNB is already open on that frequency. but.. it will be able to open another frequency IE 10729 V E4.. just not at the same time..

If you've got a quad and its full.. shove an Octo on the end of it.. jobs a goodun

the bit in bold isnt true, the first box tunes in the transponder so any subsequent box can also tune in the channels from that same transponder , which means if you daisy chained 2 or more boxes then if the first box was on bbc1 then ALL the linked boxes can also watch bbc1 , or any other channel on that same transponder

what it restricts is say box A watching bbc1 then box B cannot watch say itv instead , so the second box has severe restrictions as many transponders are not available to it , especially if box A is on a horizontal transponder as all the verticals are then unavailable to box B

so as already said, give each box its own feed and each box is independent of the other box or boxes, which is how my boxes are all fed - separately

box has its own problems without adding more hassle with tuners and cable issues.

hey lads he's a newbie got me confused for a second so he must be baffled if he's only started in the hobby.
on sat each box has to have its individual feed from the LNB you cannot split the feed it will not work.
