    upgrading openatv image

can anyone tell me is there a easy way of going from openatv 3.0 to latest version can you back up everything on the old image and put it in to a new flash of the new image and every thing would be there without installing anything again like plugins cams and epg and tunner imfo.

    thanks

You can make a personal backup with open atv which should do all you ask epg setup, channels and plugins i won't mention the c word. Not sure if they will transfer to 4.2 though as 3.0 was a long long time ago

Upgrading from such an old image especially one that is OE1.6 will mean none of your current plugins will be compatible you really need to do a clean install

deffo start from scratch, but backup your personal details to your pc from your old image , but clean install of the latest plugins and catseye lists etc after the new image is installed

very little will work from your old image , so not much to backup

Tbh I'm not a backup fan. The time it takes me to do a clean install is negligible as apposed to possibility of errors transferred by corrupt sections of a backup and having to start again anyway.
