cancelling existing well known branded satellite and replacing best option

***** Sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place or have broken any rules*****

hi guys, i am completely new at this and was hoping for answers to a couple of questions,
im wanting to cancel my current 'branded' satellite package- cry+
and i wanted something to replace it.
i have read up on these skybox f5 but there's a lot of negative opinions on them. so what option is better?

also- i currently run a 'magic eye' from my cry+ HD box up to my bedroom, i am aware i will need 2 boxes now- one for each room, but what is the best way to do this? running another cable from my dish to the second box?
is there and chance someone can PM me a link of what box to buy where to buy from,
(plus i also wish to record on them)
hopefully looking to spend no more then around 200 for both,
any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
    thanks
    Matt

aye duo is good and if needed second box could be single tuner and when setup presuming another e2 box one can access recordings from the duo with remote, via home network.

[/QUOTE] Because of your budget your limited to Skybox f5s /V7 etc.
These record to external drives, but are crap at doing so, and most only record the channel you watching.
You need to run a cable to second room.
You also need internet at both boxes.
        You need external drive.

Two boxes would cost ?90 or thereabouts.
To network boxes wifi or powerline homeplugs about ?20 for plugs, better option.
To get cableguy to run cable, if you cant do it, about ?20.
        External hdd ?50.

those clones dont even match providers box and never will,if he wants to record on both then 2 twin tuner boxes will be needed ,up your budget to get a better service.

good box with hard drive isnt cheap m8. hard drive its self is worth 40 to 80 quid. or just pick cheaper box and buy used dvd recorder with hard drive and record from scart

obviously there is one elephant in the room we cannot discuss

but the boxes are a different aspect, so ideally you would want something that works in a similar fashion , bearing in mind that none of them work with the "magic eye" although with extra cash you can buy equipment to fix that issue if needs be

ideally you want a twin feed linux box that can accept an internal hdd , probably one downstairs and one upstairs, each with a twin coax sat feed from the dish, plus ethernet cables to each location too

your budget allows for maybe one of these boxes, certainly not 2

a tm twin, solo 2 , gigablue quad , vu do or similar will do these tasks , plus can be set up for a 7 day epg as well , so will give similar results to what you are used to

its not the end of it even then , as there is always more expense, but to get setup in a similar fashion you are best buying a box with twin tuners as a minimum , ethernet , usb sockets and space to fit an internal hdd , plus a usb stick for the epg and picons plugged into the back

a vu solo 2 would be ideal , then stick a laptop size hdd inside (or something very similar)
