What are your thoughts on this box mate?

I'm confused about the second tuner. Is it suitable for UK cable?

Will your Blade 7000S sat channel list work on this?

I have to say I've been pleased with my 7000S and at this price I could well be tempted if the cable aspect was as good as the sat.

        Badly worded question by me.
I know the list won't work for cable, but I was wondering if digicon's excellent sat list for the 7000 would work for sat on the 8000.

I have a sneaky suspicious feeling that it will use a .CNDF/.NDF format for the channel list as when i had my Dr HD Grand Triple which had a slot for a pluggable tuner inside the .NDF channel list right at the very end was the setting for Cable and terrestrial built in. Now the downside CTeditor which most use as its the best editor for cndf files does not like a .cndf or .ndf file with the terrestrial and cable extension inside.

Dont take my word as gospel that the 8000 will use a .cndf format but looking at the receiver Top Cover in the photo's its identical to the new Technomate F3/5 and TM 5402M3 sat receivers which may suggest it comes from the same factory which would suggest it uses the same file sytem.

Lists for the cable side of things will be area-dependent, won't they? A list made from a London feed will be useless elsewhere, or so I understand. It's not like a satellite list. I assume Blade will produce an editor for this.

Do you have one of these boxes? How have you found it so far?

No its for a friend looks okay. From what I have seen.

much prefer the reliable enigma2 box not relying on one source.

Here's how to scan courtesy of DELTAWING

ok what you do is goto tuner2 scan
then select powerscan select 6952 as your symble rate and press scan its gonna take a while to scan but should get about 350 odd channels, i have the newer firm on mine but were testing that should be able to release that in the next day or so

There's no "BISS" option. On this firmware.
