Help required. Thinking of getting a motorised dish..

    Hi guys.

    Wondering if you can help!

I would like to try a motorised dish to see what they are like so I am wondering how to go about with the following:

Need a box which has 7 DAY EPG minimum, a combo box would be ideal, otherwise I will stick to just sat, user friendly especially for the Mrs and the parents, recording is not essential but if price is not too high, then why not. Most of all, it needs to be able to view HD.
Doesn't neccessarily have to have IPTV or xbmc, etc etc as I am thinking of getting an Intel NUC or may just keep Amazon Fire TV.

PS, what would be the benefits of getting a linux box? I had a CLOUD IBOX and it was decent, however the connection just kept messing up, maybe it was a dud.

Any help would be great, PS if anyone knows of any installer's in Manchester, plz also PM ME!

I have a amiko mini combo but I can't get to the menu as I downloaded a channel list and I don't have a desktop atm.
I'm also using an openbox v5s. Ta

        Hi Mate,
        I've a motorised dish & 3 Vu boxes, each connected to 2/1 switches & 28.2 static dish.
Couldnt be more happier, all the bells & whistles.
        You cant go wrong....

A combo box is ideal especially if you have access to a cable feed, as for recommendations if you specify a budget then you will get a good few ideas.

example for an E2 Linux combo box your looking at around a starting price of ?129 - Upwards.

There are Clone Combo receivers if you do a search but as you had a problem with the Cloud ibox maybe its best to stick to something that has official support
