Question on if I can connect up a box to a sky dish and get channels from it??

Wonder if someone can help?

Currently my dad has free sat in the living room, this is connected up using a sky dish.

what i want to know is can i run another connection from the dish into my room and connect it upto some sort of box that will allow me access to sky sports etc??

yes you can, but fta only onless you know what your doing

By know what your doing? what do you mean? as in know about cam cards etc??

Yes you can connect to dish using a quad lnb. if you want sky sports you will have to pay a subscription to sky, thats on 28east of course.
