Is this a good offer Please let me know

    Hello Hello
I intend to buy a Linuxsat 500 Black Box as I was really looking for a DM500s and this seller is highly regarded on the forum. I am in Dublin Ireland and a lot of the dealers on ebay will not post to Ireland they will only post to England and Scotland and a few more places but however not to me. I have found this offer on Wizard Satellite and I really would like advice on it if it is good or if I could get a better deal Thank you in advance.

    1 x 1.1 Mtr Triax Dish
    1 x TM 2300 Diseqc Motor
    1 X .2 Single Lnb
1 X Heavy Duty Wall Mount
1 x 30 yard roll of coax cable
Cable clips, 4 x F connectors, bolts & plugs, amalgamating tape.

This system costs ?129 and in a box for an extra ?17.32 I will get a Technomate .2 Lnb & motor the motor part I do not understand but I am very new to satellite systems and need advice. Many Thanks > Dunner.

yeah thats a good price mate, however i dont trust the L shaped brackets they send and would upgrade to a set of T and K brackets to keep it attached to your house, especially with a 1.1m dish

whats wrong with the L shape wall bracket? I find its the most common with 90 - 120CM dishes at all houses in my location

Im having my tm500 delivered in two days. If you can hang on i will tell you which is the better receiver.
L shape brackets are the easiest to set up i think. I couldnt recommend t n k as i have never used a system with it. If you do use an l shape then you would need to get a galvanised one.

                    Thank you all.

                    Hello Hello
I have my heart set on a DM500s and believe it or not I am looking forward to getting to know it. I have joined Paypal so that I can buy safely on the internet and hopefully my account should be confirmed today. Looking through the forum the 500 Black Box from Linuxsat seems to be the safest to buy as Linuxsat seems to be regarded very highly on the forum. With this receiver and the setup from Wizard I hope to receive signals from many satellites. I am still not sure if I am to go for Wizards standard pack or get the Technomate .2 LNB & motor (what is the motor) I will buy what I am advised to but I really would like someone to take a look at the details in this package and let me know 1.1 mtr Triax Motorised System for ?129 on sale at Wizard Satellite, Satellite receivers, dishes, lnbs and equipment. I have spent a lot of time reading the forum (with pleasure) but at the end of the day I am just a beginner and I am very grateful for your help. > Dunner.

I got my dish from Wizard Satellite. It was a package like what you are thinking about getting. I strongly advice you not to use the supplied bracket, and to buy a pair of T & K brackets from focus DIY for about ?15 plus fixings, you will also need a short piece of galvanised steel tubing to mount you motor onto. The bracket what is supplied can be used, but you cannot be certain that you have a really good fixing into the wall. Also the bracket what was supplied to me was allready going rusty where the welding had been done. If you want to have peace of mind and not be awake all night when its windy, hoping that you dish isn't going to come crashing down...I strongly advice you NOT to use the supplied bracket. Remember, if that dish comes down and lands on somebody or something, you will be liable !! Please take your time installing the dish, and more importantly do it safely.

Has anyone here had an L bracket come down on them? I only ask as mines only been up since christmas, but it seemed pretty tonka and the wall bolts i put it up with were M10 so quite huge.

My neighbours Lidl 80cm dish came down a few years back.
The L bracket was sheared clean off in high winds.Dish ended up buckled in the back yard, luckily no other damage.
Albeit it was a poorly made bracket. He replaced it with one he had made up by a steel fabricator ,a beast of an L bracket ,you could nearly hang a car off it it was so strong.

I went with T K brackets myself ,well two T brackets and its very solid.
I'd imagine its harder to get the dish aligned on an L bracket due to the difficulty of getting it 100% vertical.T K are very easy to adjust the pole.
The L bracket is more prone to wobbling in the wind too as it has a smaller base.
I'd err on the side of caution and get the TK brackets ,they are pretty neat and allow for easy adjusting of the dish down the line.

I think I will walk before I run.

                            Hello Hello
Having asked for your help I am sorry that I am not going to go ahead with the Motorised Dish just for the moment as I think learning about the Linuxsat 500 Black Box and fitting the Motorised Dish at the same time could turn into a real nightmare for a beginner, if I had a problem I would not know if it was caused by the receiver or by the motorised dish. At the moment I have a Pace Sky Digibox and dish that I installed a few weeks back on FTA and my signal is great so I am going to connect the Linuxsat Receiver to the dish and start to learn about it, this will take time and when or if I can use it fairly well I will go for a bigger dish as I know it is a waste to have this receiver on this system. I thank you for the advice I will use it in the future when I have more experience. > Dunner.

you will only be able to clear the Freesat channels with the dreambox on 28E.. bit of a waste IMHO
