I am currently using 28.2E for my traditional viewing of sports, movies and the likes. I was thinking of broadening my hobby into other sattelites - which are the best ones to pick up (bearing in mind my foreign language skills are not up to much!!)? Also, would I go for a motorised setup or a multi LNB on the one dish kinda job? Any feedback appreciated.

Motorised will give you 1000's of channels at your disposal if sited correctly on your property, you could always go fixed with a multi-lnb system with something like 13?,19.2?,23.5?,28.2? east should give you around 5000 channels.
Either option will open quite a few channels with the appropriate softcam motorised will open more, a lot of the Foreign Broadcasters actually keep the english language soundtrack as most prefer to watch and listen to Movies,Docu's etc.. in there native tongue

Thanks for the feedback. I assume the channels are as per King of Sat and if so is there a particular sat that is better than others that I should attempt to locate in order to get the football? Also, I have my tuner running through XBMC, is this suitable for a multi LNB / motorised dish setup?Comment

While I don't disagree with digicons advice, if you go the multi-lnb route then you can have favourite channels from different satelites side by side in your favs. menu instead of having to move your dish each time to get a fav. on a different sat.Official Meat-Head Fan Club Member (member number 14300)Comment

If your using XBMC / Kodi you should also look into getting your football via IPTV / Streaming addon. Sports devil would be a good place to start looking. The picture quality is rarely the same quality as direct via a sat, but it can be useful for watching some harder to watch games i.e. 3pm ko games.

I'm using an android box with XBMC and the it comes preloaded with all manner of IPTV channels (as well as the 28.2E sattelite channel list). There is free IPTV and 2 lists of other channels including Bein Sports etc. These do require "unmentionable things" unless I am mistaken. If I'm wrong, let me know and I'll give it a bash. Some of the addons wont install properly from zip - no idea why. I will however check SD addon to see. Cheers bb69Comment

You looking to do it all on one dish?
I am in county Down currently 19.2 on a 60cm sky zone 2 dish and 13.0E, 0.8W and 30W(hispasat forget the actual degrees) on an 80cm motorised.

I was looking at a motorised setup but the distance between my box and the only place I can get a decent signal is about 55 metres. I assume this is too far for the motorised dish to work.
I now look to get the sats on a multi LNB setup. Can you get 25.5E or 26E? Because of where I am (Northwest Donegal), I have to shelter the dish from the wind from the West so I'll only be
able to get the East sats anyway - short of moving house!Comment

55 meters for a motorised is do-able but it would be advisable to use a low loss branded full copper cable instead of the usual RG6 type something like Webro WF125 which is slightly thicker than standard RG6 or there own WF100 but is ideal for longer distances

I think you will be generally wasting your time trying for that satellite, you may get a few channels, but maybe not what you want , I also think you would need a much larger dish, even if it worked , which it may not do
stick to getting the tried and tested sats like 13e , 19e , 28e , 30wComment
