if i was you m8 i would pay an engineer to set up your dish, it can save you loads of hassle and time , and only costs around ?60, i know its not the same but it will eliminate anything you could be doing wrong.

what box you got ? could be a tuner issue ?
also can you recieve any free channels ?

Most peeps start with Thor as its the closest to straight south, get a prtable tv and rig it up outside next to your dish and move it slightly and try to puck something up.

Ive know people to start at 28.2e because they got an idea where to point at from their neighbours Sky dish.

maybe if you can post a photo of how your dish is pointing ?

The thing I think might have been the problem was the dish elevation angle....or the lnb skew...how would I find them out ?
Ive got the dish at 29 degrees, that was off dishpointer

How to set the system up the easy way. Make sure your mast is plumb from all directions, now take off your motor and use the dish only and look for bbc world on 1west. once you have found it with out the motor tighten the dish elevation. Now put your motor back and put t5he motors elevation the same as the dish, now your elevation is correct. now swing your whole set towards 1west and you should find your sat.

you need the dish lined up to true south not magnetic south and you realy need a meter you can get them at maplins for about ?15 or cheaper on fleabay, also the elevation on the bracket of your motor are not 100% accurate so it may take a bit of twicking from your settings

                            Thanks for the support gents.
Real bad storm here right now.....I wont give up...I think and realise some of the settings need to be spot on,I have a meter.
Thanks father you inspired me to carry on.

Its on the ground in the back garden so very easy to deal with....I`ll continue the quest tomorrow

One thing tho gents, can anyone tell me why when the box boots up it automatically tunes to intelsat at 18w ?
Cause I line him due south then when the box comes on its moving
Anyway, hopefully the weather is better tomorrow and I can get the reciever and portable out in the garden next to it.
                            Thanks again..I`ll post again tomorrow.

I"d follow "aftermaths"advice and use 28.2 east to set up on as you will regognise the progs. if you have input your lat & long into the box ok in the motorized setting menu make sure you have 28.2 astra2/eurobird on the top line and an active tp on the 2nd line and usals on the 3rd, then press ok on the "go to" line wait for the motor to stop .nows the tricky bit you will have to move the whole dish motor assembly left right and just the dish itself up and down til you get a signal, then press scan and you should see a list of TV channels appearing on the left its not needed to find exact south as once you have found your 1st sat the others will fall into place with usals.
moving to 18w on boot up may be just a minor glitch if everything else works ok I wouldnt worry about it.

10.773H 22000 is for some of the bbc channels.
