    Help with dead wire

    Hi

I have moved into a new build house and every room has been wired for multiroom under the floors. 3 out of the 4 rooms work and are connected to an octo LNB but one of the bedrooms has no signal.

The connections are good and have tried two different boxes and its still dead.

Is there anything else i should try or is it most likely a dead wire?

Hi It could be that the fourth room has no LNB connections or not connected properly. If its not your property check with landlord if fourth connection exists. Youre very lucky to have 4 connections as the ones i have fitted receivers to only had two although this can vary from property to property.

    Regards

Its more than likely that the ports on the Octo LNB are dead that the Cable is connected to, A very common occurrence in Octo's

It could be the socket.... the most common fault on new builds

wrap the braid from the cable around the solid copper wire in the centre of the cable then go to the other end of the the cable and check for continuity with a multimeter, that will tell you if cable is split somewhere, if you have continuity well then the fault will be with your lnb. or just swap the cable your getting no signal with to a port that you are getting signal from this will tell you if its cable or lnb fault.

            Cheers everyone 😊😊

Found the issue. Some wab had fitted another wire not plugged in to anything. There was a slight bulge underneath the carpet and it was a co-ax wire stuck an F connector onto it and yay we have signal lock
