Im getting restarted on the sat scene

Im getting myself restarted on the sat scene its been a few years. Last time I played was in the old days of D2mac and separate decoder and season interface.

Now I know things have changed a fair bit but alot of the basics have not. Where i use to live in the past had very restricted view of the satellites.
just been out in the garden where i now live and played with a couple of phone sat finding apps to see what my viewing range is
tried several apps and now I have a good average.
To the East I can see Intelsat 26 at 65.8E and to the west Amazonas 1 55.5W.
That is from ground level below where i will be installing my dish which will be 3m above ground.
I live in a bungalow and all other houses around are the same so with the extra height might get a slightly wider sky view.

Now my dish is a 90cm dish which just been taken out of service with a twin LNB unknown make but believed to be 0.2 will probable change anyway ( last time i played had a cambridge lnb 0.9)
my rough location N53.3 W00.05 as im looking at footprints as well.
intention is to use a motor on the dish looking around at reviews on these at moment.
As for receiver I have a humax F1-CI but looking like its not suitable for a motor drive only seperate LNB's
so looking around I have the chance of a Manhatten plaza XT-M.
Looking at reviews I know its an older model but seems to be good on blind searches.
Is at moment im more interested in feeds and non encrypted stuff. That might change as i get myself back up to date

I know I've a hell of a lot of reading up to do. Im keeping my budget small at moment see how things go then might invest in a better receiver.
So at moment Im reading all a can on forum and web nice to see lyngsat is still around.

    so any pointer or recommendations

and out of curiosity are there any receivers capable of motor control that can hooked up to pc to control the scanning either direct connection or view network

cheers for now off to hit starbucks for my coffee fix.

For the PC you will need a DVB-S2 card which will give you the added benefit of being able to receive 4:2:2 feeds as well as 16/32APSK multistream channels with the appropriate card, Prices vary from around ?30 up to around ?200

For that type of control you would have to invest in an enigma2 linux receiver unfortunately all Closed source type receivers cannot be controlled by a PC

Why would you want to control the motor and scanning via a PC?
The advice that I would give is to keep it as simple as possible and to use the receiver to control the sat and do the decoding.
