    Switching from Disqec to Usuals

    Hi Guys

Am trying to get a better all round signal on a friends motorised System who is currently using Disqec

So i am going to do the Following

    1. Move the Dish to 1 West by Disqec

    2. Reset the Motor & change its setting to Usuals and enter Lattitude & Longtitude

    3. Try and get the Max Signal on dish Will on 1 West then lock nit down

    4. Move the motor to all the Sats i want by Usuals.

I THINK AM RIGHT IN SAYING ALL ABOVE

    ANY SUGGESTIONS MOST WELCOME

    Kind Regards

you can skip the Move to 0.8? west part and just use the 'Move to Zero' function enter usals and then turn to 0.8? west and fine tune Dish/Motor

Hi You just need to enter your location figures and then send it it to any satellite you want using USALS. Then you need to loosen the dish and move it with your hands left/right and up/down until you get a picture.then tighten dish up and check how many channels you get from that satellite. With USALS you must line it up on the correct satellite to begin with and then it will calculate the distance between all satellites you want to search for. Make sure you have correct channel/TP frequencies for the satellites otherwise you wont find anything. You may need to adjust dish angles or LNB setting as you go along until it all falls into place. My advice is to start with an easy satellite like 28.2 east or 19.2east or 13 east.

      Regards

        Hi,
THanks for that so i dont need to reset the motor just change the motor settings to Usuals and the overide all other motor settings on Disqec before hand
for example if the motor is at 28e now just go into Usuals and put long & lattitude settings then the motor will move to 1 west anyway then fine tweek the dish on 1 west to obtain best signal

        Regards

You should always either send the Motor to Zero option with the receiver or better still if the dish is accessible reset from there. Reason being all motors have a small memory flash chip that stores the settings inside the motor itself whether that be for USALS or Diseqc 1.2, But by resetting you clear all the previous stored data from within the motor and so start a fresh
