    Trouble getting western satellites

    Hi,

I'm having no luck at all with any of the western satellites. Mainly I'm after 0.8w, 5w and 15w.
I have an 80cm dish on a technomate motor being driven by an Openbox S10, and can hit 13e, 16e, 19e, 23.5e, 28.2e and 39e no problem, but nothing from the western side unless I raise the elevation, which then mucks up the eastern. I've checked plumb and level on the bracket and been over and over the numbers, and am getting tired of my neighbours "up the ladder again?!" comments.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm missing?
    Thanks

sounds like you arent tracking the arc correctly

even though you have mentioned it , double check the pole is plumb in every direction

set the motor to your latitude and leave it locked , so if its 52.5n , set it and lock it, never alter this at all

now decide where your true south is from your longitude (not magnetic south) and you want the zero on your motor to point towards it

set usals up on your box with your own long and lat (your gps position) , then select bbc world news or the voice on 0.8w and the motor should move

ensure your lnb has no skew on it, so the lead points straight down

now alter elevation on the dish to about 27 or 28 and swing the whole motor left or right on the pole until it booms in

tighten and check fta channels on 30w and 28e and 42e , so you check the whole arc

tweak it slightly left or right on the pole and move the dish elevation up or down as required, until you track the arc

    lock it up

Thanks very much. Back up the ladder I go, with a new spirit level and a bob.
