as for cable if you have a cable connection for phone or computer etc:then there are lots of receivers on sale that can be prrogrammed, but just be aware that there is posts saying uk cable will be changing to nagra 3 very soon and that will stop anything but a official subscription from opening the channels, satellite changed to nagra 3 for some providers about two years ago and there channels hav'nt been open only by subscription, if you go for a cable box and get a few months use it should have paid for it's self but like anything else you pays your money and takes your chance's
