    virmin satellite ?????

    Hi All
    just been talking to a m8 that works for virmin in the sales department ,and he recons some body has told that virmin are going to start fitting dishes instead of cable ,for people that cant get cable ,i told him that i think its a load of cr*p ,
    has any body else heard this ??
    but it does make good business sense on there part but still think it wont happen

    this could just be to get people ready for the switch over. ie to offer them freesat. cant see them offer anything else that way. although they could offer internet via satellite but im sure that would be a waste as as long as youve got a fone line you can get broadband from somewhere.

      Yeah Its all ready been done in Ireland by South Coast Television I believe for the past 2-3 year, same as a Sky Minidish but upside Down for the low level transmittions (frequencies between 11739mhz and 12012mhz) (Not from a Satellite).... this way they can supply what was a MMDS service in Digital or HD and expand the number of channels presently been provided ....

      Specs:
      receiving antenna (It will consist of a small dish - 30cm to 45 cm depending on location) an LNB (low noise block converter) & set top box (STB) Deglectors opperating at 11Ghz from transmitters ....


      This is not Satellite Releated other than useing simular Harware ! this should be forwarded to the Cable section ....
