info on installing a 1.2 channel master

I am installing a fixed 1.2 channel master. I am going to install it in my garden on a 2.5 inch pole. I would just like to know how deep should i put the pole and how wide i should have the base of the concrete.

Hi m8..with it only being 1.2m it doesnt have to be too deep, cos the wind wont affect it too much....
I would dig a hole 2feet square and 2feet deep and sink the pole the full 2 feet, this will be fine....
Good choice of dish m8,are you motorising it?...if so it would be
nice if you could report back with what sats you can pick up..

if your going to use the fixed az-el mount then you will need a 76mm, 3inch pole.

scaffolding poles are 2inch diameter which will be too small.

i use a 3inch galvanised pole for my channel master, motorised with a jaeger 1224 motor which is 36volt.

I looked all day around town in every hardware for a 3 inch pole. I didnt think it would be so hard to find one.
