some channels not found on rescan

My m8 asked me to have a look at his openbox I updated his channel list and also rescanned. BT sport and Setanta don't clear and on scanning are not found .I also tried my own box in his house a zgemma 2s again on scanning no bt sports or setanta some other channels not clearing. The channels that clear are perfect.is it likely that the dish needs realignment.
    cheers for any advice

Hi Try and do a blind scan and see if channels appear - if not then i think your dish is out of alignment. What is your signal reading???

    Regards

try manual scans on the new transponders, seeing as they have moved hundreds of channels in the last few months

on the enigma 2 boxes the satellites xml file may need updating before you start scannint, to take account on the new transponders (unless you plan to scan manually)

In my house as you say that's how scan starts channel 4 etc but in my m8s it does not pick up any channels until about 50 percent His box picks up all channels in my house but they do not clear in his I tried my 2 boxes which work fine in my house but not his .As I said earlier I would have expected some break up on the channels that are found on scanning but they show and clear fine.

In the Installation > antenna setup menu, is the LNB frequency set to Universal (9750-10600)?

Does he have any other boxes connected to the same dish?

If he lives in a flat, is he using a communal dish?

do emigrants live there as sometimes the dish gets an unofficial nudge pointing to other sat,any strange names on your scan?check them on kingofsats website and it will match their channels.

I am wondering if he might need the "no signal fix" if he is on a communal dish. You can check by seeing if all the working channels are on horizontal transponders & all non-working channels are on vertical transponders.

Although I don't see why this should affect a Zgemma box. Unless they suffer from the same "bug" as the openbox?

It usually happens when the LNB on the dish has other boxes connected to it, such as a sky+ box. When the sky+ box is disconnected, the openbox will work normally again. As your m8 has a communal dish, there will be other boxes connected to the same dish, so it could well be the "no signal" problem.

It only affects channels that are on vertical transponders.

If you search Ebay for "no signal fix", you will find them for sale.

Some Blade boxes also had the same problem.
