    SNP( Service Named Picons)

    Hi Guys,

I'm using a zgemma h1 on openatv 5.1 image and the box is running perfect, I have picons already installed on it for both cable and Satellite but as you know there have been a few changes recently which means I have to manually rename the picons to the new service ID. Does anyone have one of these boxs running with SNP picons.

Can these boxs work with SNP picons or is that only for the higher end boxs.

    Thanks

This might help, I have a zgemma 2s running a vix image and I use SNP picons with no problems at all.

These are the SNP picons I use, their up to date except for the 'AMC from BT' and a few other shopping channels picons, if you use an extension ie piconmanager to install picons then best to remove all installed picons first then FTP the picons to /usr/share/enigma2/picon folder.

As I said I use a vix image but I'm sure its the same picon folder location and compatibility for an opentv image (opentv images work on S,S2,h and H2 boxes) but please make a backup image first just in case.

Hi mate thx for the reply, no don't use any piconmanager to install them, I usually just find them in the picon folder and get the service ID of the zgemma and just rename them to that, but I'll try these and see if they work on the openatv image, is there anything I should enable in the image to get these to work as they should.

      Thanks again

Should also add that my picon folder is located on the 8gb external flash drive and not the box, will this make a difference ?.

      EDIT:

OK added them to my 8gb flash drive, the snp picons show when I select the list of channels but when I choose an individual channel the picon for that channel does not show in the info bar, I have checked and all option for showing picons in info bar are set to yes in the settings of the opneatv 5.1 image.

No just delete your old picons and then just place the new picons in the folder and go. Check EPG/Info for new picons, if not showing then try a reboot

Shouldn't make any difference, just means that your image has set up the location for picons on external usb and not internal flash like mine.

Hi thanks again for the help, figured out why they where not showing up in the info bar, I was using the MyMetrixMOD in the opoenatv image and although I had everything set to yes they still would not show in the info bar, so I switched to the MyMetrixLite and now everthing is showing as they should.

          Thanks again

They are very good indeed. Different to the 1's I was using.
