Aligning Motorized Dish SATLINK WS6906 satellite meter?

    Hi,

I have a motorized dish setup, which due to wind keeps getting blown slightly off course. I have re aligned it a couple of times using the missus indoors to keep an eye on the picture appearing, but she is now getting fed up doing it.

I was looking into a satellite meter and came accross the Satlink WS6906 meter. As I would only be looking to re align every now and again is this meter likely to meet my needs?

    thanks

never used a meter but heard they are ok (Satlink WS6906) if your dish is easy to get to u could use the old reliable method of hooking box and small tv straight to dish,
if you a using a enigma 2 box u could use your lappy to c picture and signal cheers shaun

Hi with all due respects having a sat meter wont help you if dish keeps losing itself. Make sure that after you have lined it up that all bolts are securely tighten. I have installed dozens of motors and never once used a meter or any of these modern day gadgets. I just use a small tv hooked up to a receiver and then adjust the dish along the way until it all falls into place.

      Regards.

Whenever I set up a motor I used to use the old method of getting a portable tv outside but not always safe in bad weather, I've been using a satlink a few years now.
I normally set up 1 West, then push the buttons on the motor & drive it straight to 28 east, if both sats have good signals, everything else in between should be good too.
But I usually drive the motor checking all sats along the way to be happy. Just have the satlink standing up close to the motor so I can see the signals.
          Satlinks pretty good though.

            Hello.
That meter will only tune in to standard definition (S1) signals.
It will not tune into HD (S2)signals.
If S1 (Standard Definition) signals are available from the selected satellite it will work fine.
