    Replacement for VU+ Duo clone

Well after 2 and a half years my duo clone has decided to die on me with the red light of death.

I am sick of clones and I heard by swapping the power supply can resolve the issue but I am not that interested as the box was starting to show its age.

What would be the best replacement box?

I currently have two feeds from 28.2 and one from 19.2 using a switch and was using OpenPli.

    Any recommendations would be appreciated

    Cheers

I'm more of a budget kinda bloke ie sub 100 ,if your spending upto 300 then it's best if members with boxes in that price range advise you.

as you have aready owned a vu model if you want to stay with vu
then the vu duo2 is a first class box, i also have a vu zero
this is only a single tuner with no loop out but i cant fault
it and that is just over a ?110, so it's not always the most
expensive thats needed it's just a personnel choice as to what
you want ,do you need multiple tuners? do you use a hard drive to record?
the giga blue boxes are also worth looking in to

            original vu duo2 /vu zero/ tm-nano-se. v-box / 36v /1.2 dish,

I upgraded to an original vu solo 2 with 1tb hdd and also added a usb for the extras like epg data and picons
the duo 2 is also a good option if you need to add more tuners

the alternatives are the technomates and gigablue ones of a similar nature

I would recommend one of these mate, click the link >>> *************

that works out about only half of the money your wanting to spend, you can pick whatever extras you want too, if your going to get one of those though
just remember to search on the internet for Genuine VU+DUO's otherwise you could end up getting sold a clone again, I think that's the place I bought mines
from years ago and "If" it is then they are all genuine VU's, I would do some homework on it though just to check before buying obviously.

anyways, just what I was thinking and I am surprised that they are quite nicely priced now too, I think when I got mines they were just on the market and I am
sure I paid about ?350 or more, but that was years ago as I said and that's what happens when things like that are just released onto the market etc.

For a ?189 you vcan get a Technomate nano-3T twin sat and single cable receiver with the same chipset as the Solo2 dual core 1300mhz, the Duo is really old Tech now and should be avoided at all costs.

For ?300 take @benny9's advice and get the all singing dancing Vu Duo2

yes old duo needs cacheflush and swapfile in use to try and stop the spinning vix symbol, images are getting bigger.

                            don't use vix then

I don't use usb sticks or nuffin either, simply the box and that's it, but I just need a box to work and that's it, I don't look for nuffin special, so I guess it depends on
what an individual really wants. (I hardly even use it, plus I don't have a motor dish and aw that either).

Don't get me wrong, if I had to purchase a new box nowdays I may very well take the advice previously mentioned in here but apart from those caps blowing on this one
time its been a great box, great but just some bad luck too plus I didn't know that switching it off often at the switch could blow those caps either, but I thinks it did, just
bad luck I guess unless its an extremely common thing, if not then I still say for the money for a genuine box its a good buy and from uk dealers too.
