4m dish for all weather conditions. just stick to a motorised dish as showtime are going to become unpiratable(yes even C/S wont work)

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

Hi m8...you will get some success if you buy a 2.4m dish, you could try the much maligned fortec star dish which is just 190 quid, and that i,m sure will get it you...
as you know i have the 1.8m version and get the vertical transponders 24/7 even in pissing down rain, and get the horizontals late at night but they,r really weak..its performing well and is just a tad too small for the horizontal transponders....
A lot of people who slag them off are novices and dont have a clue how to set em up properly!!
i would also buy a good c120 lnb and feedhorn,i have the invacom...but the inverto lnb is supposed to be better...
If you get one and want a hand setting it up let us know!!
After this season showtime lose the footie,,but abu dhabi tv will also be showing epl on there for the following 3 years..

I have the 2.4mtr fortecstar from maplins running with the inverto lnb c120 flange & feedhorn & it performs very well.... reception is from the west midlands...I do get a bit of rainfaid on the H transponders but nothing to much.... all in all I am very happy with the dish & the gain it gives

Eyup ces...what signal quality and strength are you getting on the horizontals mid afternoon say between 1 and 5 when the signals at its weakest?...are they still booming in?.....and did yours take a lot of fine tuning like mine.....

              Terries m8

I can get around 35-40% in the afternoon between 1-5pm but I did have to play around with it for a while to get it spot on... I have 60 meters of cable connected too as the dish is at the very bottom of my garden & I do use an inline amp but m8 for the price of the dish & the gain you can achieve I think its value for money.

thats pretty good m8....also on the maplins site they give the focal point of 682mm for this dish...which is way out for my dish...mine,s actually 665mm for best reception, and gives me an extra 8% signal quality...

Yeah do that m8 and let us know what results you get...been trying to find a 0.1 c120,but can only find invacom and inverto
Also ces..what receiver are you using on 7w....out of my various receivers i have found that my hbs innovative has a lower threshold than the others including the tm.and can produce a pic on the weaker transponders when the others cant..

I,v got the invacom gibbo, but would like to try a different lnb to see if i can get some more gain...was thinking of the inverto 0.3db..the same as the invacom in db but supposedly better?
surely someone does a lnb with a lower db than these?
The horizontals are 1.5db weaker than the verticals so a better lnb might bring em in...some nights the h,s come in very weak after 10 if its clear...some nights nowt at all even if its clear!

Terriers m8 I have been using the 7020 & the 800 dreambox but there is no difference in gain between the 2 stb`s, maybe there will be a diff with the invacom & the inverto
