    4K monitor

Hi,I'm thinking of getting a 65inch Hisense 4K monitor. I've been reading a bit about them and wonderd if anyone has tried a monitor instead of a tv to watch their f3 etc on. Main question is tho do they upscale HD to uhd? . It's something I have been thinking of for a while, they cost about ?630 where as a tv costs 3 times as much! We only use TVs as a monitor to watch our various sources of TVs programs from boxes or streaming! Any thoughts or info would be great. Regards to you all

I would imagine that everything you play on the Hisense 4K monitor will be upscaled to the monitors original resolution which is 3840x2160, so HD will be upscaled 3 times its original resolution but do not expect UHD quality from your input source just maybe a slightly better picture

you cant get/buy anything such as a 65 inch computer monitor (unless i missed something ?), you must mean a TV, right ?? Monitors are much smaller and for a real good one much more expensive generally, but if its just a tv you mean then that means a vast selection and prices etc ??

I used to buy real top end pc monitors costing a fortune for many many years and then maybe 5 years ago I decided to check out my high end pc on a "great" quality fully backlit LCD, also tried plasma etc too and used to game a lot and the quality was pretty amazing considering the size of screens (Huge), yes they are not as good as small extremely high res monitors but in reality unless you need to do things like graphic engineering etc then I quickly figured out that there was simply no need to buy monitors costing a total fortune and at the same time you can get a mega size screen if you go for a large flat screen Tv.

But, as I say, if you need it for certain things then I guess its your choice, its just that you mentioned 65 inch and the largest I can see these days for a real monitor is about 32 inch, but your talking probably 3000 quid for one of those.

I always found Dell monitors the best quality and the best warranty too if its defo a monitor your after, just my opinion though.

I looked up the tv your on about and to me really it isnt that special 'apart from the size' , can you come down a bit with the size maybe ?, this is quite a good one >>> http://www.richersounds.com/product/...ams-ue48ju6400

(do your homework on them all first though).

p.s, they all try and upscale images the best they can for the images showing, thats where you generally see the difference in quality and prices etc, price doesnt always make the difference but usually spending some extra wonga works best my friend, especially when looking for something pretty good
I might as well add too that 4K is a total waste of time unless you have money to burn, you wont really get any use for 4K for another 2 or 3 years and thats if they dont decide to kind of drop it as they done with 3D basically etc, 3D is also a waste of time, maybe in the cinema or something its ok, apart from that there isnt many people sit in the house with 3D glasses on, and as far as I know some of the main movie and game makers are actually starting to drop it a bit, its just treated now as an extra bonus option on a Tv, thats all, will be interesting to see what happens to 4K but I have a feeling it will go the same way as not many people want to splash out dosh on state of the art TV's for nothing and without people buying it will fail for sure.

Well I beg to differ but if you look on Amazon they sell 65inch 4k3d monitors for ?630 at the moment they are out of stock but have a list of other sellers who have them in stock. The price is on average is about ?1000. If it wasn't possible to get one why would I post a request for info about them. Just have a look on flea bay as well they have them as well!!

those are not proper computer monitors, they are just TV's, have a look for computer monitors, not ones that receive tv etc, just monitors, you will see that they cost a fortune.
(unless you want to show me different ?) Then I will agree with ya

I never mentioned anything about computers! The thread was about using it for watching tv from satellite or cable boxes. So have a read before you make a comment that has nothing to do with what I was askin !
