Sounds like you have a corrupt image. Either follow the guides in this thread to install from fresh an ATV or VIX image or if you want an even easier option then Google search for someone's backup image there's plenty to be found.
I'm new to everything that has to do with tv tuner boxes( I think that's is what their called?) and need a little advice. I am looking for something under ?60 that can do more or less the same job as the*** box and allows me to watch all channels free.
