Zgemma-star 2s flashing issues
Hello
I have just purchased the above box and I am trying to flash with this image, but everytime i try and flash it when the box continues to boot. I think I have followed the steps on here correctly but had no luck
I have used 3 different memory sticks one being a 32gb kingston data traveller formatted with hddguru, then windows format, extracted to the USB still no joy.
Does anyone have any ideas that can help.
Thanks in advanceComment

I've just tried to flash the image via USB and it flashes ok, so it seems to be that your Zgemma doesn't like your USB drives, I assume your have the USB in the rear port and on boot 'USB' isn't displayed on the front LCD screen.Hello

Right, you could try this, it may work. This will only work if the factory default Openatv image is on the Zgemma.
A. Boot the Zgemma and carry out the post Initial boot up setup if required
Post Flash Initial Setup–( Use remote scroll left right up and down arrows as required)
System boots in German, don’t worry we’ll change that soon
1. Select your TV connectiom type ie HDMI press Ok
2. Select your TV resolution ie 1080i press Ok
3. Select your Refresh rate ie 50mhz press Ok
4. Select ‘English UK’ press Ok
5. Press Ok at the User Interface setup
6. Press Ok to use 'Wizard for Basic'
7. Select 'Check Internet Connection'
8. Press Ok if Internet working
9. Setup Tuner A - Config mode scroll to 'Simple' , Satellite scroll to '28'2e Astra' ,Send DISCqC to 'Yes' leave all other options default, Press Ok
10. Setup Tuner B - Config Mode 'equal to' Press Ok
11. 'No scan Later' press Ok
12. Network setup Press Ok, Press Ok again
13. Press ‘Exit’ again when shown the German channel Bouquets
B. Plug in your USB drive into the front USB port
C. on the Remote menu-setup-software management-flash online/local then press Yellow and yellow again
D. Find your USB drive in the list and enter each folder until you find 'rootfs' file
E. Scroll to the 'rootfs' file and press Green
The zgemma will then flash the image, when the zgemma reboots remove the front USB and insert your Storage USB into the rear and continue with instructions from setting up the USB hard drive.Comment

What does it say under Detected Devices (menu-Information-Devices)
Also I find changing the Epg location can be slow to respond, ensure that the spinning wheel stops then press the right scroll button.Comment

Sorry, not to get back to you quicker had to re install the image to find the fault/bug, anyway try this;
1. Re-initialise your USB flash drive: Menu-setup-system-storage devices-Initialisation and select your drive
2. Re-setup your swap file: Menu-info Panel-Plugins- Swap Manager, Blue to create 256mb, Green to activate, yellow to autostart
3. Reboot
Go into Menu-Setup-EPG-settings and hopefully the location is now '/media/hdd' press red to exit
Redownload 'Crossepg' and Save 'EPG' by:
1. Ensure Menu-Setup-Crossepg-Config ‘storage location’ is correct, if says ‘internal’ change to ‘your usb drive name’
2. Menu-Setup-Crossepg-Download Now and let the epg update
3. Menu-Setup-EPG-load/save – save EPGComment

So Crossepg saves to your USB but the EPG says 'internal' and won't scroll? Try another Full Reboot and see if it will scroll, if it doesn't have you got another USB flash drive to try?Comment
