We can help you set up a receiver for free to air but cannot advise on how to obtain subscription tv for free or by paying anyone else other than a legitimate broadcaster. We will not break these forum rules for any reason.

Yes, watch freesat and record, but if you want to watch 1 channel and record another then make sure the box you get has a twin tuner. ie in the Zgemma case the 2s, if your not to fussed about watch 1 record another then a cheaper option is thr S model. If you choose a Zgemma you will need an external USB drive for recording.

If you're after a recordable freesat box, then have a look on the bay, I'm sure you could pick up a Humax or Sandstrom HD 500GB freesat recorder for about the same price, without the hassle of setting up a Zgemma.

What sort of budget do you have in mind for a twin tuner?? the fact you are going to connect it to a router would suggest you would also like to explore the world of iptv, and possibly attaching a dish with a motor or fixed dish multi-sat. The iptv/web streams will require a bit more kick than the zgemma range can really muster comfortably and a motorised system opens a whole new world of fta and services opened with biss keys. Sorry if I'm confusing matters further but you need to be clear on what you would like to achieve and set yourself a realistic budget. Until we know what your budget is and what your goals are the answers you get well be generic at best with no clear direction. The best advice i can give is that someone who is treating this as a hobby and is willing to learn will get much better advice with their specific problems than someone who just assumes it is a method of cheap tv. The more effort you put in the more channels you will get out .

not much of a budget then

I have an original VU Solo 2 with internal HDD fitted, does the jobs admirably, but costs a lot more than your meagre budget

For that budget the only original twin tuner is a zgemma 2s. Start reading up on enigma 2. Doesn't matter which box is being spoken about the process is pretty much the same for all E2 boxes, although we will help, we are by no means stupid and with the answers you have given within all your posts it is very clear your goal is to receive channels from the 28.2e sat only. Everything you need to know is already on the forum and if you read the threads carefully you will achieve your goal, just follow the rules and don't ask any questions that's likely to break them.
