    Thor 1W 65cm Dish

    Guys

Quick question has anyone tried or managed to pick up thor 1w on a 65cm dish in the UK.

Reason im asking a bloke in work said to me he had a 80cm dish with mounting kit and uni lnb and was going to sell it to me for ?20. Well he finally bought it in to work and to my despair its a bloody 65cm dish (was well looking forward to putting it up at the weekend). So has anyone ever tried getting thor on this size dish. is it toally impossible and wasting my time or shall i pay the bloke ?20 and give it a go anyway.

    Cheers

Dont think about it 65cm far to small , all depends on your location, you should get away with a 80cm but i have already said it depends on your location. better with a 1m . if you was in my area i have a 1m dish for sale for ?20

          Hey guys.

          I just found this w.w.w.cdtronix.com/motorised/80cm-dish-0-1db-lnb-moteck-sg2100a-motor-pack/prod_552.html

Would this be ok for receiving thor 1w.

          Cheers

He He, I picked up bbc world and a few other discovery channels on thor using a 39cm camping dish bolted to a coffee table in a car port. Got photo's somewhere. PS I'm way up in West Yorkshire.

I'm in Norwich (East Coast) and am getting Thor perfectly on my old 60cm Sky analogue dish which is ever so slightly obstructed by the house. Signal strength is at 80-90%.

Only time i have any problems is when its raining which renders Thor pretty much unwatchable.

My advice is that for all rain conditions you need atleast a 80cm, 90cm if your past the Midlands going north.

                      I live in Essex.

Called the council yesterday to find out about planning permission for the biggest possible dish bolted to the side of my house and they said a 1m dish was allowed. So think im gonna get 1 of them motorised as well.

                      Thanks for the help guys

essex will easily get you thor with a 65 cm. but some transponders will break up in the rain.
