    Looking to jump ship..

Could someone advise please... I'm a current Kryptview user & looking at become a satellite user, but have no idea on this side of things, box wise.
I'm thinking of getting an internal satellite dish that can work with a suggested box. Any ideas welcomed... Thanks in advance...

why does it have to be indoor sat dish? happy to be proved wrong here, but I thought these types of dishes don't work well with modern double glazing? (that's if the window points in the right direction of the satellite)
A good basic no frills cheap as chips starter box would be a openbox v8s retailing on the bay for about ?35.

I live in a flat & think it's too much stress to organise a Dish outside. When you say no frills, is that like a freeview box? Otherwise can it view footie & flicks?

The openbox v8s will show freeview and is capable of viewing footie & flicks, but the user interface is very basic don't expect a $ky HD box, But why do you want to ditch the Cable side of things, IMHO satellite days on 28.2e are numbered it could be next week it ends or next year, who knows but it will end as Mr Muddoch its getting fed up off losing lots of $$$ at the mo cable is the future same channels plus the bonus of more HD channels.

If the Kryptview box has a problem then do so research into how to fix it or if it's broken then perhaps get a Zgemma H1 or H2 cable box ?65 on the bay.

Shouting from the rooftops about cs on sat or cable is likely to get it noticed and end sooner rather than later. I realise most of what you've said is implied but you're still making the link to cs which I think you'll find will certainly be noticed by mods and admin, friendly advice from me.

What if you put the satellite dish in the attic, will the response be better than internal ?
Also thanks for the education peeps, as I understand the conversation was cutting it close to the wind, I hope no one gets their knuckles wrapped because of this..😜

have read this, but in some cases some signal loss, certainly wont work through roof tiles or slate.

Hi t0mm0, to answer your visitor message you left me, I don't use a sat box for IPTV as the Zgemma 2s is to slow and troublesome to handle the streaming plugins ie kodi direct, TSmedia or mediaPortal. I just use my Zgemma 2s as a Satellite box only, for my IPTV needs I use a PC and Kodi. There are better sat/cable receiver out there that can handle the streaming plugins better but come with a higher premium. Perhaps look at an android box I've heard good things about a wetek box, which is an android box but has the capability of adding a cable or satellite tuner.

One last thing, visitor messages ain't private and can be read by other forum members so please don't post any illegal content on there.

Nice one t0mm0, are you using the wetek with satellite or cable? And if you are using a satellite dish how did you overcome the dish location problem.
