    Thanks

Hi i signed up a few days as i got thrown in at the deep end after getting a zgemma s2 box, previously i had an f5 box and did nothing other than enter a line via remote and update the channel list via usb. Anyway one of my friends got one after seeing one in action but it lasted 3 days then stopped recording wouldn't live pause etc, eventually i fixed that after wading through the forums on a few other sites and finding info on here which was a lot more accurate. Once it was all fixed i started an image backup just incase he had any further problems then he could simply reload the image, half way through image creation it bricked. To say the least i was a teeny bit miffed after spending a 4 hoours fixing the recording issues and a few other small bugs. Once again i hot the forums searching everywhere for another couple of hours and finding new firmware which wouldnt install and was driving me nuts by half three in the mornning. Just before i gave up and chucked it in the bin i came back here and started going through the threads and trawling the archives, eventually i found i had a list of things i could try and gave myself a crash course in zgemma boxes. By nine am the next day the box was once again working with a new skin and cut down firmware, i found a version on here and cut out some of the unnecessary clutter to speed it up. As it turned out even without stripping it down its still smoother than the openvix im running in mine so at some point i'll be changing that too. In a week or so when i have tweeked the firmware i will link to it with a file share to add something here myself if its ok. Previously he had one of sucmnsee's images installed which from what iv'e seen are normally fairly good but something had happened when the box was originally flashed so it was unstable.

Anyway i just thought it only fair if i posted a thank you to all of the contributors that have have added their knowledge creating a wealth of information on the forums, even when you can see a problem right infront of you sometimes you dont see it until somebody points it out too you. In two days i mangaged to solve the issues with his box and have a crash course on the boxes finding out just how much potential the boxes have that i would have otherwise missed and its all thanks to this wondeful site and it's members, your all stars.

    Again THANK YOU.

dont give up mate, all linux boxes are all slightly different
but they all work more or less the same way some of the
top brands cost a lot more but are better quality with more
support, the zgemma boxes from what iv'e seen are good boxes
for what they cost. but they are limited on images. give the
    euro-sat image a go it's very stable.

for anyone who needs how to flash the box try this way

    ZGEMMA H1/2S /H2/S Update Steps
    1,First Download ZGEMMA H1/2S /H2/S image/software
2, Unzip it and copy the Zgemma folder to the USB stick.
3, Turn the box off-Plug the USB to the back panel USB port.
    4, Power on,
5, Press the Power Key on the front panel after you see “USB”on the
    display.Then the display shows “Flash”
6, Wait Until the decoder restart Automatically.
7, no need power off, just take the USB stick out when the receiver is boots up.
NOTE THAT:THE ZGEMMA BOXES ONLY SUPPORT UPGRADES THROUGH BLACK PANEL USB PORT
