I have just got a Sky+ box and need to set it up to get Freesat. I have a card, with no subscription.

tread title is very misleading m8.... you do not need any tricks. just set it up( I assume you know how to do that )...
insert the sky card... and away you goooo.... after the card updates you should get all the free to view sky channels as well as the free sat ones.
there are no tricks to get any more.
