    Sky TV advise Please

Hi all, I already have sky running the free channels but been thinking of getting a basic package from sky. Am I able to just order a card from sky or do I need to get a new deal with box and dish etc etc, just seems abit pointless paying out for someone to turn up when all that's needed is a card entered into the box
Do sky do card only deals?

ring up as a new customer and get their latest deal ie: free box, installation
and maybe some 1/2 price deal for a few months and use your own box
in another room for freeview.......get the free box m8 thats what id do
cos its the only thing you will get for free from them

                  Hi Goodfella

1, When you say that you are already have Sky running, is that with: an old card in the box (yours or otherwise) or no card in the box,
2, have you ever had an account with Sky in the past and cancelled it.

Because if you have had an account with Sky in the past & still have an old card, then all you do is phone customer services, & they will prob chew your arm off to get you back & offer you something like (Half price for 6 months) or something, providing you are using a Sky box & not a Linux one, (coz they won't pair up a card with 1 of those)...

But if you have not had an account with Sky, they will still offer you a deal, but will prob want to try & charge you for an installation (something like ?60), then if you tell them that you have one of their Sky boxes + dish working already & don't see why you have to pay for an installation & you don't think you will bother going with them, I guarantee that they will still want your custom & waiver the ?60 installation fee & sent you a card, but you still want to haggle with the for the (half price for 6 months) as they always offer that one.. I get calls from them all the time offering that. (so I take the offer & cancel when it runs out, & wait for another phone call from them with another offer)...

                  Hope this helps
                  Ian

There are a fair few good sky deals out there at the moment with the digital switch-over in full swing. Cos our area switches over next month they are targeting here, and we just got a free Sky+HD box plus a free standard box upstairs. If you don't get the kind of deal you want by ringing them, have a chat with one of the salesmen that are always out in the town centres at those temporary stands. They will do some serious haggling for their commission.
