    Time not updating to British Summer Time - Help!

    Hi Guys,

    As the time in the UK has gone 1 hour forward, it seems my Zgemma Star box has not updated it's time. I thought it would auto-update seeing as my time setting on the box is set as 'Transponder time'. However, that hasn't updated the time, even after a full restart. I've also set the time to sync via NTP but that hasn't done the job either, after a full restart as well.

    Any ideas what's going on and how I can fix this? I've got a record timer starting soon and don't wish it to start and stop recording an hour early.

    Would appreciate any help.

    Thanks!

      And if that doesn't work ensure your default time settings are correct;
      Menu-setup-system-time setting
      Time zone - GMT
      Sync - transponder time
      NTP - pool.ntp.org
      Then reboot

        Solved

        Thanks for the replies guys. The only option i had for Time Zone was UTP. Clicking left/right would not give me any other options, just UTP. Eventualy, I found the solution in this thread , specifically this post on the World of Satellite forums. I basically didn't have a timezones.xml file on the image I was using. There was a symlink in the /etc folder but the symlink was bad. I deleted the symlink and instead got a copy of timezones.xml file which I got from another forum. The file downloaded however that happened to have the GMT BST timezone entry missing (just my luck) so I added the following line in the xml file, with thanks to the second link I mentioned above:

        PHP Code:
        <zone name="(GMT) Greenwich Mean Time : Dublin, Lisbon, London" zone="Europe/Dublin" />

        Restarted box and was able to change the timezone, instead of being stuck with UTP.

        Hope that helps anyone reading in the future.
