    Cam any one explain to about cams
    what thay are for
    what is the diffence between all the diffence
    I thought I knew but not so sure now

    hello mate a cam is a"conditional access module" that when slotted into a set top box allows you to view encrypted channels by inserting a viewing card.for the channels you want.
    there are various different system and you can get cams that are dedicated to one encryption only or some cams can decrypt several systems.
    there are also programmable cams such as the diablo that may allow you to view some scambled channels without a card.
    plus if you have a box that can be patched with unofficial software you can load a "softcam" into your box which will also open some scrambled channels.a softcam is a software version of a slot in cam.
