skybox which one

i am a complete newbie to satelite tv boxes so which skybox(i am told thats the one to get) is best and do any of them have recording capabiltiy i want to buy one but would like some supirior advice.

i have a std dual lnb sky dish and wifi router in the same room (dont know if this helps on the setup)

If you must get a skybox then get a v8s, but it is very basic with a poor EPG and record facilities, a better option would be an engima2 Linux box, depending on your budget they start with the basic zgemma box start at around ?65

DONT get any sort of skybox utter ~~~~~ imo. But before you do buy any box do some reading up on Enigma 2 boxes theres loads of threads on here about them plus remember nothing is for free . look at the gigablue quad plus a great box but i would say that because i have one

ok bearing in mind im not stupid but im not a satelite specialist either. i simply want to replace my s.. box with somthing that is comparable or better..

you wont find better as your subbed box can give you HD channels if you pay the HD sub, not available elsewhere

dont buy a slybox, they are 3rd party rubbish

if buying a 3rd party box, look at the twin tuner linux boxes like the VU, zgemma and gigablue, preferably with an internal hard disk drive

nobody here will advise you on the sly topic as its a banned subject

there will be a lot of learning involved in order for you to get up to speed

you should lower your sights onto what is acceptable, not replacing your box with the same or better
