transfer ipk file

guys not sure if this is the right forum, where do I find an ipk file once transferred to the temp folder in the openatv image
also when I download an ipk file to pc it shows as an php file is that ok
thanks in advance of any help, still trying to get used to openatv

you transfer the .ipk file to /tmp folder after that press the blue button and install from the menu
