Never used them .....I always use the company ramjet recommends above Goldwafers
I got my Solo 2 from them a while back & never had a problem

If your buying a Solo 2......look at the cable tuner as well ......also a motorised dish
Then you can have a lot of fun with the system

Top end box but well worth the money.........

I use them all the time. Very good service before and after sales. They are sponsors of the vix build team

            Ramjet

i have a quad lnb the s*y type would this work ok on a motorised or is it not up to the job?

QUOTE=ramjet;2889001]although there may be some you can install, the vast majority are held on their own servers (a bit like using the play store on an android phone)

so most of the popular plugins are installed with the image , or from within the plugins menu within the image and download off a special server that hosts them

openVIX is by far the easiest to setup and with a few modifications can replicate a sly plus box , with similar skins and epg and menus

I would change your lnb to a quad and double up or add a twin "shotgun" cable as used by sly to get the best from your new twin tuner box, if you buy a twin tuner version that is

on a non vu box like the technomate twins the openVIX image is probably the best option but it is all down to choice as several images exist

stick a miniature usb stick in the back to keep picons and epg data etc , not using the hdd and definitely dont use the flash mem for those tasks either

I realise you dont know all this , but am telling you so you know what to look for and why later on, it is a learning curve but the rewards are much better than your old spider[/QUOTE]

no , do not use a sly lnb on a motorised dish , use one that is fit for pupose like the inverto black ultra ones

A good EPG plugin, either Crossepg or Epgimport, both are as good as each other, I personal use Crossepg but others prefer Epgimport, plenty of guides around to set either of them up for 28e

Ok looks like you've just got the basic Openvix image and have done a manual scan so all your channels are all over the place, ok, you will need a USB drive for you EPG and Program recordings/timeshift (atleast 8Gb)

First lets get that USB correctly setup
                      1. Place your USB storage drive into your solo's rear USBpost
                      2. Menu-setup-system-storage devices-Initialisation ,Select your drive and format it
                      3. Menu-vix-swap manager ,Blue to create 256mb, Green to activate, yellow to autostart
                      4. Reboot

                      Next Download required Plugins
                      1. Menu-plugins Red-systemplugins and then look for 'epgimport' and if found remove it, as where going to use 'Crossepg'
                      2. Menu-plugins-Green-systemplugns find 'Autobouquetsmaker' and install it
                      3. Menu-plugins-Green-systemplugns find 'Crossepg' and install it

AutoBuoquetsMaker ie auto channel finder and favs maker
                      1. Menu-setup-service searching-Autobouquetsmaker-confige , 'schedule scan' to 'No' if doing manual scans or 'Yes' if you want auto scans and set a time for it
                      2. Menu-setup-service searching-Autobouquetsmaker-confige, 'keep all none ABM bouquets' set to 'No'
                      3. Menu-setup-service searching-Autobouquetsmaker-confige 'include none indexed channels' to 'Yes'
                      4. Menu-setup-service searching-Providers to the following;
                      5. Freesat -No
                      6. Sky ROI -No
                      7. Sky UK-Yes
                      8. Sky UK Area- Scroll right to get 'your area' custom ie mine's 'Scottish East Custom' this will replace all none working HD channels with their working SD conterparts
                      9. Sky UK FTA only-No
                      10. Sky UK Gen main Bouquets-Yes
                      11. Sky Uk Gen Section Bouquets-Yes
                      12. Sky UK swap channels-Yes
                      13. All others-No
                      14. Menu-setup-service searching-Hide Sections, select what bouquets you want to hid ie adult channels
                      15. Menu-setup-service searching-Delete Bouquets
                      16. Menu-setup-service searching- Start Scan ,this will add all the relevant channels for your area

                      Next to setup Crossepg
                      1. Menu-system-EPG-Crossepg-OpenTVproviders select 'OpenTV providers' then scroll to 'Sky UK opentv astra 28.2' and green to save (go back into this menu again and ensure green tick next to that selection)
                      2. Menu-system-EPG-Crossepg-configure and 'schedule download' to 'once a day'
                      3. Menu-system-EPG-Crossepg-configure and 'schedule download at' a time to suit yourself
                      4. Menu-system-EPG-Crossepg-Download Now and let the epg update
                      5. Menu-system-EPG-settings 'EPG Location' scroll to '/media/hdd'
                      6. Menu-system-EPG-settings 'Automatic save' to Yes
                      7. Menu-system-EPG-settings 'save every(HR)' 7
                      8. Menu-system-EPG-load/save/delete 'save EPG'

Putting a Sky skin on can be a bit more tricky
                      1. On your PC, Download and unzip the attached SkyQ file
                      2. Transfer the .ipk file using a program like 'Filezilla' to /tmp on your solo (Google on how to do this if required)
                      3. Menu > setup > VIX > Iplkg install
                      memory/tmp
                      Press ok on the package
                      press green to install
                      Reboot Your Box
                      4. Menu...setup...System...user interface...skin setup, select skyQ skin

                      Restart GUI
                      5. Press 'EPG' if your screen doesn't look like this;

                      EPG.jpg
Then menu-setup-epg-graphicalepg settings and copy below setting over, then reboot
                      Graphicalsets.jpg

                      Next Picons
                      1. On your PC download and unzip the 'picons' file
                      2. Transfer the 'picon' folder using a program like 'Filezilla' to /usr/share/enigma2/

Unfortunately I can't help with your last request as it's against forum rules to discuss such matters.
