    Need some help please

Have a duo2 working fine for about a year

yesterday all of sudden some channels would tune failed (fta as well as $)

Then most of the channels started throwing this error up, only a handful of channels now work.

I've done service scans, rebooted the box, took all cables out and reinserted inc sat cable.

i can't even do an auto boquet search anymore, an error gets thrown up: tune lock failed

Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

try a completely different dish , cable and lnb setup , to see if its the box or the lnb or wiring or dish alignment that has failed or altered

once you know where the fault is , you can attempt repairs

Thanks for your suggestion, however I should've mentioned that the dish is working fine as there is another feed going into a different room, which is working as expected

If it is the cable, would same channels work and the others wouldn't. I always thought if the cable was gone, all channels wouldn't work.

      Thanks again

test the cable and lnb using the working box from the other room

if the working box works where the duo2 is , then its either a corrupt image or a fault on the duo2

as I said earlier, you have to narrow the fault down by trial and error, nobody can disgnose it on a forum from a few words

Tried another box, same problem. Guessing it's a faulty cable or dodgy connection to the lnb.

Flashed another image without restoring any backups and still the same issue also.

A poorly terminated cable end or damaged cable will give you those symptoms of only some channels failing. I had exactly that issue a few years back where I could only get a lock on the horizontal band but not vertical. It was a loose connection took ages to find it.

Thank you, I had a proper look at the end that goes into the box, was pretty poor. Chopped the end off and re done the coax connection, signal has improved but still missing loads of channels.

Done a signal check and it shows that most my horizontal channels aren't receiving a signal. I'll check the lnb tomorrow, hopefully just a loose connection

its either a loose connection , water damaged cable or a faulty lnb , or a combination of those options

this was why I said try swapping stuff out , to narrow down where the fault is , which you have now done

quick update, watched a youtube on how to connect a f connector to coax properly. Re-did the cable and everything's working again. Strange how it would just stop suddenly one day.

Anyways thanks for your help guys, much appreciated.
