    Sky Installation queery

Hi I'm trying to install a sky system thats around 7 years old and not been used for around 3 years the box manufacture is Pace. The satellite signal on the system set up is around 3/4 along the bar but no markings at all on the signal quality.
I have the dish set up at 28.2, When I try to find channels on the Pace box it just says no satellite signal received. The card in the box is a blue one and obviously out of date but I thought that Sky News etc can still be received.
The reason I'm trying to set up the box is so I can take it abroad with a new freesat from Sky card . Do I need the card prior to trying to set it up or is there something I have missed?
    Many Thanks

The LNB may be knackered on the dish, or the cable from the LNB may be fractured.. Have you checked the full length..??

if you have dropped the LNB from quite a hight then yes i'd say you have damaged it
