pressed deep standby mode, how do I get the box to come out of it now ?

I was flicking through the options on the computer screen interface screen for my vu+duo and meant to hit the "restart box" option button which is right next to the "deep stand by" button and I accidentally clicked on that instead of restart, yeah, that wasn't a smart move, I know.

But, I didn't think anything of it until I tried to basically somehow just start the computer screen interface screen on my computer and the page wouldnt open up, so I check the connection to the box using Dreambox control centre as I always do and no matter what I done would it connect, hmmm .

So, after that I still didn't think it was a big deal and thought it would probably be ok by manually restarting the box from the rocker switch at the back but nope, it still wont start or connect on the computer either.

Just getting the stuck on red light nonsense AGAIN, yet that cap or caps where renewed/fitted with new higher voltage better ones just a couple of years ago, plus I hardly ever use the rocker switch to turn it on and off either, I always restart the box using the restart box option from the computer screen interface as I was told thats much safer, whether it is or not I have no idea.

Anyway, bottom line is, how come this just happened when I selected "deep standby" option accidentally ??? and is there a way to reverse this ?? I have never ever even hit the deep sleep option until now, so I don't know exactly what it does or if there is way to get it out of this state, is there ?

p.s, I have unplugged both sat dish feeds going to the box now as the box isnt serving its purpose for now, just using freesat box instead for now.......Do I need at least one feed plugged into the box or what or should the box still come on with someone showing in the LED display ??

p.p.s, or do I need to reflash the image onto it again maybe ? as I say, first time I have ran into this deep sleep option scenario, what a pain in the neck man

I've got my Zgemma on powertimer to go to 'Deep Standby' at night after all the EPG's and toppick's update, in the morning all I have to do is press the 'Red' standby button on the remote to restart the box.

If that doesn't work and turning the power switch off at the back then back on again doesn't work either, then perhaps a reflash is required.

thanks Martin , yeah, you were right, flashed it again and now back to normal, well normal-ish, I still can't bloomin figure out exactly what the darn way is I set the tuners or all the frequencys etc to scan 28.2e, sounds simple I know but on these flurkn VU's it just seems like a nightmare to me man, I am not a satellite expert and don't want to be either, just want the darn thing going, LOL, know what I mean mate.

it has twin tuners but I just use tuner A, someone told me exactly how it should all be set before including the frequencies too on this very site and I cant find the bloomin post now man,,argggg, been screwing around with this now for I think about a week man and got nowhere as I just dont know, I will be honest, I dont know, infact the image I flashed was one had saved from 2014 (open PLi) as I was told open pli was best, but that was back then, dont know about now though, if someone would just help me I would pay them man, know what I'm saying.

i sent you a link to view setup of box did i not.
each tuner if wired up to 28.2
        config.mode SIMPLE
        mode Single
        sat. 28.2
        send Diseqc No

        Tuner B same as above.

automatic scan on 28.2 should pull in around 990 channels

Yeah mate, but what about the other things like all the frequency's etc if using a manual scan, I should have said that, my fault, sorry.

one good things is I got it out of sitting on standby, but its a very old image I flashed (open pli), now I dont seem to be pulling any channels and thats why I wonder about all the settings as if auto isnt looking like its doing anything then I would imagine that manual is worth a try, but thats when the whole lot of the configuration settings come in and all the freq's etc, see what I mean now ? its as if the new flash has wiped everything which would be correct too I guess, so now I am kinda back to square one man, hmmm, ready to throw the darn box through the window man, LOL, really am.......p.s, what boxes was it again was it you said you preffered rather than the likes of the Zgemma's matey ?

manual scan is for finding a known channel with all the info filled in.bookmark the sat bible for checking moved channels.
            Code:
            http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php

automatic scan works if dish and lnbs are alligned perfectly and tuners on box setup correctly, remember sat dish can move due to bad weather.

single or duel sat box will only work if sat dish is alligned correctly and most people forget that and buy new boxes.

no, cause the sat dish repair guy fae the cooncil contractor came oot and tested my feeds with various meters and was able to
show me allsorts of sky channels playing on his device, and after some testing he said he can tell me right now the problem
is with the box, how can I argue with that ? I cant.....plus the fact that all my freesat channels work totally perfect too all with
great signal strength and signal quality too, defo the cap C848 needing replaced or possibly a couple/few more too.
