Lost all signal on SKY dish?

    HI all,

i'm new to the satellite side of things so be gentle!

I've just moved home and the house has an existing oval sky dish so I got hold of a freesat box and installed it succesfully with a signal strength of 94%.

On weds, we had a torrential downpour and the signal just went from the box completely...and 3 days later it's still saying 0% signal. I'm assuming this is a result of water getting into something and not a box fault.

I've not had chance to get up ladders yet, but nothing obvious can be seen from a quick look. Is there anything in particular I should look out for or try?

    thanks in advance!

well when you get the ladder out check that no water has got into the cable between the connection to the lnb, it should be covered with a rubber type tape which waterproofs it

also if it was windy the dish may have moved out of alignment.
