Mag 254 vrs Mag 256

hi guys looking at getting one of these boxes been told there a lot of problens with the mag 256 and that mag 254 has no problems if it was you guys which one would you buy

i have had a mag 254 for over 2 yeasrs no poblems whats so ever

Get the 256 it has more Ram and a faster processor, not much price difference between the 2

i am in the same boat, i have been advised the 256 locks up a lot ? any other views ?

The 254 works perfectly, so if you have doubts then just stick to that.

I have had all 3 a 250 a 254 and i use a 256 now my honest opinion is if you're using with a portal i have not noticed a difference between any of them in fact i was a little sickened i splashed out on the 256 and gave my original 250 away only for the software and experience to be exactly the same and i have never understood why they changed the button positions on the remote and never reflected this in the firmware graphics (a bit of a rant)
these days my advice is to go for a 254 and always look for a genuine box don't bother paying the extra for a 256 its not worth it, any 250s on auction sites will be clones and its a 50/50 if they work or not i have bought then for friends and ended up sending most of them back
