Canal Nordic lose the rights to Premiership Football

Canal have lost the rights to show EPL football for the next 3 seasons see article below. I wonder what provider and Satellite they will use, does anyone have any further info?

MEDGE CONSULTING SECURES THE BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Medge Consulting has today successfully acquired the exclusive media rights to England's Barcalys Premier League for the Nordic region for seasons 2010-11 to 2012-13. "We are both pleased and proud to have secured for Medge Consulting what are arguably the most prestigious fooball rights in the world today", said Peter Liljestrand, Co-owner of Medge Consulting. "The Nordic has a strong connection and history with the Premier League and we are keen to maintain this close association going into the future"

Premier League Chief Executive, Richard Scudamore, said: "We are pleased to welcome Medge Consulting as our new partner for the Nordic region, and we are confident that they will distribute all the best Barclays Premier League action in a comprehensive and innovative manner."

The exclusive rights include all live matches (380 matches per season) as well as all repeat, highlights, news rights, mobile and internet rights for the Nordic region.

            should read..

they will distribute all the best Barclays Premier League action in a way where people in the UK cant watch it so easily, therefore keeping our main money source (BSkyB) happy

Yeah i can see this happening OPSMONKEY as i'm sure sky would be more than willing to give them a helping hand in broadcasting as far away from UK as possible

there not doing 2 well as most the games are still shown on hot bird 13 and astra 19 not forgetting 16 .... dont really need a big dish 4 that

plus these channels are for the Nordic region and thats just across the sea so its gonna be real difficult to take uk out its range

im just waiting for the day when i move to a bigger house and can replace the garden shed with a Couple of metre free standing dish ....then its hellllllooooooo super sport lmao

I reckon Viasat will be offered the 380 live EPL games. If not maybe TV1/2/3/4/5/6/7 Sport.

Am I right in thinking that whatever satellite they use to beam to the Nordic regions we should be able to pick up in the UK, surely they would have to use 1w or 4.8e as it would not be practical to move from these Sats.

The way that ART lost the middle east coverage was partly down to the fact that Showtime use Nilesat 7w and we could not pick up in the UK without a 3m dish, I hope this is not an option with the new Nordic provider.

the middle east is much further away than Nordic region,it only a quick trip across the sea

no matter where they move the rights to we should still be able to pick up reception

its either 1W or 5E. If its 5E then we might be in trouble as the beam for that sat is so tight in UK. Its receivable but not all channels unless you upgrade your dish

Anyway, Sky italia in my eyes is the best even today. On a saturday i can get 3 matches on HD and 1 or 2 more on SD

Sky Italia is excellent but having Canal gives that extra choice, we have both cards in our local club but we have used the Canal card more this season as the coverage of Sunday 3pm games has been better.
