    Help, I'm a complete virgin ...

    Hi,
I haven?t much forum?d & a complete novice @ these digibox concepts so pls bear with me ?

    I currently subscribe to Sky & I have a Sky+ box.
Is it the case that there are machines out there that can emulate this situation & therefore receive all current channels (inc. sports), for a reasonable initial outlay + record what I want via an EPG ?

If I understand this correctly, then there are also boxes that can have a cable facility combined with a satellite capability (in the one box).

Are there boxes that enable us to watch English football @ 15:00, say the Arab channels & do we have to set up satellite dishes & stuff or is it just a case of plugging in the box.

Do we need to subscribe to Sky or cable after box purchase ?

Presumably things go wrong occasionally, like scrambling & stuff, what do we do when this happens, are we snookered?

I have to pop out so thank you for your help if you can offer any answers or recommendations & I look forward to checking any replies later.
    Cheers.

q1. yes, there are many boxes most are supported on this forum, although recieving pay tv without sub is illigal.
q2 there is a box call dreambox 7025 or openmenia that can do both sat and cable. the dreambox can also record.
q3 you can watch 3pm footie with most sat boxes on this forum, ie dreambox but you will need a satellite dish pointing at the correct satellite. best setup is motorised.
q4. it is illigal to watch pay tv without a sub. but you can search google for cardsharing or cccam.
q5. everyone jumps on this forum in a state of panic

hope this helps, others will add to this im sure
