Hello guys, newbie, some advice which system??

Hi guys, just some advice on which system would be best, am newbie to the sky scene so spent time over past week reading up and am still as confused as ever.

Am basically after kids channels, asian channels, and maybe some movie / sport channels if can get them sorted?

But my plan of attack was think its time to bite the bullet and get started, so have been looking at the following two systems:-

    90cm dish motorised setup?

90 CM MOTORISED DISH PACK SOLID - ?115.00 : Wizard Satellite, Satellite receivers, dishes, lnbs and equipment

    1.1 m dish motorised setup?

1.1 MTR TRIAX MOTORISED SYSTEM - ?129.00 : Wizard Satellite, Satellite receivers, dishes, lnbs and equipment

Am gonna attempt to fit myself to start with, if fails can always get the experts in and get bent over for the installation charge, but which package would you recommend?

Have a dynamite programmer, am presuming that will be sufficient for programming card?

Also the box / receiver? Have looked at the following:-

    Technomate Tm 600 Linux USB = ?95

TECHNOMATE TM 600 LINUX USB - ?95.00 : Wizard Satellite, Satellite receivers, dishes, lnbs and equipment

    Dreambox DM-600 PVR = ?179

DREAMBOX DM-600 PVR - ?179.00 : Wizard Satellite, Satellite receivers, dishes, lnbs and equipment

Am after something that I can play with to learn how things work with the sat scene for a starter, but at least allow me to look at cs if needed (know not to discuss cs here).

Know am probably asking some weird questions but am just looking to start off and get something up and running and then play and learn as going along, am presuming also the box will move the dish to various locations to catch the different satellites?

So am assuming that once I get the dish set up, either box flashed and set up, then will be able to catch the various satellite channels all be it the majority of them will be blanked / encrypted.......or am i being to simple?

THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR PATIENCE IN ADVANCE...........

Before you go off and spend any money have a read of this sticky as it is not simple as you might imagine.

thanks for that, lifes never simple, wasnt simple really when started having a go at the cable thingy, was only cos was tired of paying the dude down the road ?20 every time i needed summat doing, and okies understand that aint gonna be that simple, but question i was asking was it must be worth having a go and seeing wat the foreign channels available are? i mean i currently have a sky dish already set up and have the free channels on there, but if did go to a motorised setup, messed with the box, should be able to get some foreign channels i am presuming and if needs be go on to cs?

Is more just for kids channels to keep them quiet, and the free sky has ceebies and couple of others, and got the basic package so get sky one and couple of others, like i said was more doing the motorised for a bit more...

A few people have gone off and brought a dreambox, hooked it all up and then wondered why S*y is not working. I started off the same way as you once someone told me it was all done through the pc. It is worth it in the end but you have to 'do the time if you are going to do the crime' i.e you have to spend the time reading , understanding and asking until you have got it sorted in your head. I would go for 1m motorised and a Chinese dm600 to start with and you can't program the sat cards.

Hehe, dont like the sound of doing time like......... Thanks for that, understand it wont magically work, should be good love a challenge, remember when I first programmed a cable card, on the 20th attempt i realised that had the programmer set wrong so it kept wiping the card every time, doh. but you live and learn, am ordering a motorised dish setup for new year, was gonna order a technomate box, but will have a lok at the dm600, thanks again bud, am sure wont be the last questions will be asking....woo hoo..
