i wonder why people trouble themselves with these multi LNb. On ebay you can but a brand new 90CM dish and motor and LNB for ?70 and you have minimum of 10 satellites.

some people cant operate a motorised dish on their wall.. for instance if they have an offset south facing wall..

i know a couple of people who can only have their dish in one place and it has to be fixed due to outside wall layout

Some people hate waiting for the motor to turn to the required sat whereas with these multi LNB the response is almost instantaneous.

I have one of the 55cm versions of the FW dishes, managed to put it up 2 days back, so the jury is still out on it. I have 28e, 19e, 13e, 5e, 1w on it atm., I can fit more lnb's in, but will need the Inverto slim LNB's to fit between the gaps. I may be able to get 10e on a normal LNB, but after spending 7 or 8 hours putting up what I have I couldn't be bothered to try on the day (and it was dark by the time I finished).

The main reason I put it up was that I didn't want the hassle of a motor, and it allowed me to have a quad output LNB on 28e with 2 outputs going to my s*y box - which means that when I'm surfing the rest of the family still have s*y.

Next step is to see whether a DM800HD will give me anything 'extra' without CS (can't do it at all, so won't try). depending on that then probably, during the summer, replace my 55 with the 90 (I can't get the Nordic beam on my 55) to get even more. I already have a 16 input Diseqc switch in place, which is only using 5 inputs atm.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Yes you are correct. I have 2 feeds going to the s*y+, the 3rd feed going to my son's s*y box, and the fourth going to my Diseqc switch. All the other LNB's are single output into the switch as well. The switch feeds my Topfield TF7700. I am looking at ordering a DM800HD to replace the Topfield, but can't decide whether I'd gain anything from getting one (still reading). If I can, then that may lead me on to replacing my T55 with a T90, more LNB's and a very good chance of the Nordic beam from 1W.

I used to get 1W Nordic in the mid 90's on a 95cm motorised setup, so I know it was possible at least, although I do realise that the satellites have changed. If nothing else it gives me something to do during the winter months.

I have my dish mounted on 12 foot scaffolding at the bottom of the garden and I am interested in possibly adding a fixed dish with multiple LNB's, any chance you can post a pic of your setup?

Attached photo. You have to remember that I finished putting this up in the dark and it does need tidying, and more LNB's, but I honestly can't be bothered to get the ladders out.

                          Cheers,

I used the mounting that came with it. The dish is quite heavy and the last thing you want is it hitting the ground. To help you set it up use this link:

                              very useful site.
