Badr 6 on 26E

Hi All
I have 1 m dish pointing to 26E which is Arabsat, looking at lyngsat I see that I should pick channels on Badr 4 & Badr 6 but I am only able to pick channels on Badr 4. The transponders for Badr 6 are there in my transponders list but when I do a scan only channels on Badr4 are picked up.

Can somebody explain that? There are very good channels on Badr6 like Fox and Abu Dhabi 3 which I think won the EPL rights for next year and all are FTA.

Is it the dish size not big enough?

you dont say where you are located but 26E does need a big dish say 1.2 minimum in most areas. its not a sat I use so others with experience of it may be able to give better help.

you dont say what receiver you have, a lot of frequencies on badr 6
require a hd receiver and some tp's could be on a beam not pointing
at the uk, i'm in the north west and have scanned 203 chns in but
i dont get the fox chn. for a full list of channels on badr 6 take a look here

I tried both TM5200 D USB Super and Dreambox 500S and I get excatly same channels on both (only Badr4). If it was only dish size I can get a bigger dish, I am very keen to watch channels on this bird.

look here it states a 100 cm for the uk

there are three sats at 26e badr 4/6 and badr c it shows no
footprint dish size from this sat in the uk. i have no problems
with a tm 6900 or a clarke-tech 5000 with badr 4 and 6
i'm futher west than you in the north west of the uk

If it is not the dish size that not letting me view Badr6 channels then what it could be?
I had a look at the link you provided, but if I look at Arabsat web site Arabsat, The Leading Satellite Operator then the covergae map says 90 cm is OK for North England. However if you look at Badr 6 coverage map at Arabsat, The Leading Satellite Operator then UK is not included in the coverage map at all and that what made me think I need bigger dish to pick a signal, like people use a huge dish to pick Nilesat which is intended for MiddlEast & Northern Africa.

you will get badr 4 ok with a 1mtr dish,,but youve no chance of badr 6 on a 1mtr..i struggle with it on a 1.8m..and forget eurobird 2 25.5e not possible,unless you have a 3m dish.....its just the mbc chanels u are gonna get,cos their transponders are reall strong in the uk,even though it states a bigger dish to receive in the uk..

No m8...its harder than 7west to get!!..you looking at 3m plus anywhere in the uk

bdr 6 requires you need a very large dish to pick it up in the uk i cant be sure what size you need but the foot prints are just outside the uk.
