Is it possible to use a sky card in a VU+ or similar? or record Sky Channels to PC?

Hi,

I am looking for a way to record Sky channels (Motorsport to be precise, ITV4HD BTSports HD SkySports F1HD etc

I have a disk & quad lmb but no sky sub... If I take a sky sub I am restricted to recording on their box which is no good to me as I am looking for a way to transfer/record onto my desktop.

Can I get a sky sub & use the card in a 3rd party receiver? if not what is the point of all these 3rd party receivers still since CS has been killed off?

money is literally no object, I do not have cable in my area, I am happy to pay legally for the services to do this but cannot find anyway to do it? (perhaps it's impossible now?)

The killing of CS also affected using cards in unofficial boxes. You can still get some non-Sky channels off the card, if using a Red card then you will need the boxid that the card is paired to.
