    well aware of dish sizes

what sats do u use other than 1w , 13e , 16e , 19.2 , 28.2e that are any use to you from uk sid
with the exception of knowing be4 u buy that its not gonna pick up American or african channels?

the point being the tuner will be fine picking these sats up from uk which is all u need

i give up with you sid

Hi bulldog, guess im the man with the black hat on DK atm.Dreamboxes have been said for years 2 have bad tuners, its how thay are made.Newer clone ones i cant say on wether your right or wrong.Hardware not support, some sat receivers have better tuners than others. This mean some makes of receivers will pick up signels better than others. Some sat receivers also have not got good symbol rates, this also can affect veiwing.

So therefore someone asking for info about a new setup will only be looking to watch those Satellites mentioned by Hottdubber. So a cheap Dreambox and a 1m dish will be the best choice

          The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

            I have a 90CM dish, midlands, UK. I have a DM500 and a DM800, Both clones. I get everything on 28e, 19e, 16e, 13e, 1W.

Signal always 90%+ on all channels across all satellites i mentioned above.

I disagree with the misplaced notion that dreambox has a weak tuner.

nothing beats a DREAMBOX from the humble 500 to the lofty 8000 .

Don't buy anything yet.I spent a small fortune on gear I was advised to get off the forum namely Technomate.
Do ya self a favour mate and give it another few months to see what opens channel wise.
Just because people veterans and experts on here don't mean they are.

Well gentlemen....Here is my opinion ( if its worth anything )
I have a 85cm dish, I have recently purchased a TM600 to mess about with alongside my clone DM500s. I am very pleased with both of the boxes i have, and at the moment i am giving my vote to the Dreambox for the amount of channels it did pick up when scanning.....But this includes days when there was perfect clear skies, and not the recent weather we have been having. I am looking forward to the summertime when i can perform the same tests on my TM600...Then i will make my mind up which one is the better STB as i can do a proper " side by side " test and compare the results within a couple of hours of each other. There is no competion at all between the 2 boxes regarding the build quality...The Tm600 wins in all areas, as the Dreambox looks like a toy made by " fisher price ". But that is not the issue in question....For a cheap set up with loads of support it has to be a clone Dreambox Dm500s.....If you want to take things to the next level, then get a Tm600.

TM600 what do you get besides those few channels opening via patch?

Dreambox 500S and, dreambox800HD, all look like small toys but they are more complex that the 5KG sky+ box.

If you are thinking of getting your tv via CS then dreambox is the one for you

Hi mate...The tm600 is a linux based enigma 1 STB...exacly the same as a dm500s.......So basically the infascructure is the same..So it does offer c/s with the added bonus of a USB drive to perform like a Dm600pvr......I hope this answers that particular question....Kindest regards

I have 110 CM dish and both TM5200D and Dreambox 500S and from my personal expeience the quality of D500S is far better (13E, 28E and 26E). The dreamox picked the same channels with better picture quality. some channels on TM were missing Audio while on D500S was perfect. Also you can do other things with D500S while TM is rigid that you can't do anything with it apart from loading Softcam keys. Perhaps the only thing missing with D500S is USB interface but this is compensated with an Ethernet port.

Thanks for that good input mate.....You are correct in what you say, but i think maybe if you could compare a Tm500/Tm600 against a DM500....you may have different opinions....Is the TM5200 a c/s capable box ? I am new to this myself, and i am allways learning

No, TM 5200 is not c/s capable, while D500S is c/s capable.
